Deans Bio

I believe in treating all people with kindness,
patience, forgiveness, dignity and respect,
not because it’s the way I want to be treated,
But because it is the right thing to do.

I believe this is the first step in the way to
make the world a better place to live :)

In case you have not noticed by the photos,
I am all about music, ever since I can
remember I have been surrounded by
talented musicians, musical instruments
and music, I guess it’s just my lot in life
and I love it!

At age 7, I built my first guitar out of
cardboard and rubber bands, I would pull
the tension on the rubber bands to get
some kind of tuning from the thing,
it worked and I was on my way.

Later that year (still seven years old) I built
my own recording device, I discovered that
by using my mothers sewing needle, a piece
of thread and a Dixie cup tied to the needle,
I could play loudly into the cup while
running the needle along a piece of aluminum
foil and record the vibrations into the foil,
then by running the needle back over the line
created in the foil, I would hear myself back,
I was quite amazed at this point just how the
world worked, vibrations and music specifically,
that was my first demo :)

My cardboard guitar worked fine until I
played it out in the rain one day, oops, little
did I know then what a blessing that
actually was.

My Mother, an extremely talented musician,
loving person and the best mother in the world
I might add, took me over to a friends house,
well, this friend owned ½ of Leos Music in
Oakland California one of the biggest musical
instrument stores in the area, his basement was
filled with guitars, I thought I was in Heaven.

I picked out a guitar and amp, took it home to
my basement and that was the last anyone saw
of me for some time.

Seven years later, now 15 years old, I emerged
from the basement ready to rock the world, I
joined a band with guys well over twice my age,
I played every bar / music club in San Francisco
and the Bay Area by age 17, The Stone, The
Mabuhay Gardens, The Rose in Thistle, The
Lucky Lion, etc.. every club!

Brad Gillis of Night Ranger and I would go up to
the Lucky Lion on Jam Night and do guitar wars
on stage together, we had a blast as did the crowd!

Around the same time I was jamming with an awesome
bassist Tom Sprayberry and drummer Troy Luccketta
currently the drummer for the band Tesla,
We had some awesome jams together and great times!

Playing many large venues such as the Oakland
Auditorium, Cal Berkley, The Stone with bands
such as Minutes, Premier, etc…

I had the opportunity to meet many people and
see many things.

One day the Universe Blessed me by having the
woman of my dreams, Gina, my true love,

Gina

my soul mate, cross paths with me, I did not
know it then but this was the first
best day of my life!

I really have been blessed with a
beautiful life and a beautiful family,
I would not trade my life for anyone
else’s in the world.

Things to come:

We never really know what will come our way
from day to day, but if my past is any reflection
of my future, I have a lot to look forward to
and a lot to be thankful for!
